Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Chloris (“Chloris,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Chloris mobile application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of data, all used to operate and improve core App functionality:
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign up with Apple, Google, or email/password. (Apple may provide a private relay email.)
- Photos — images you capture or select to identify a plant or to get a diagnosis from the Plant Doctor.
- Audio — voice messages you record to chat with the in-app assistant, which are transcribed to text so the assistant can respond.
- User content — plant nicknames, notes, and messages you post in greenhouse (clan) chat and other social features.
- Precise location — only if you enable the optional real-weather feature, and only to fetch local weather for your garden. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
- Purchases — records of in-app purchases and subscriptions, used to unlock and restore the features you've bought.
- Identifiers — an account/user ID used to associate your data with your account.
2. How we use your information
We use your information solely for app functionality, including to:
- create and authenticate your account;
- identify plants and provide care guidance and diagnoses;
- save and sync your garden across your devices;
- deliver reminders and notifications you've enabled;
- enable social features such as greenhouses and garden visits;
- process and restore your purchases;
- keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and provide support.
We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not use it for cross-app or cross-site tracking.
3. Service providers we share data with
We share limited data with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf, only to make the App work:
- Supabase — secure backend, authentication, and database hosting.
- OpenAI — plant identification, diagnosis, the in-app assistant, and voice-to-text transcription.
- RevenueCat — management of in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- OpenWeather — weather data for the optional real-weather feature.
- Apple & Google — sign-in and (for Apple) payments.
- Expo — delivery of push notifications.
These providers are bound to use your data only to provide their services to us. We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers.
4. Data retention & deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account inside the App, or by emailing us at diova@diova.app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or Türkiye's KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at diova@diova.app.
6. Children's privacy
Chloris is rated 4+ and is intended for a general audience. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to safeguard your information.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App.
